Two Ceremonies, One Day: A Nella Terra Wedding

We have so many favorite photos from this May wedding at Nella Terra Cellars, that it took us forever to put this collage together. It was seriously so hard to choose just a few!

College Romance

Yes, they met in college. However, Hellen was dating someone else when Lucas first met her at a party they were all at. Not to be dissuaded by the other guy, Lucas tried his best to connect with her. However, after the party, they didn't see each other or even communicate for a few years. But he never forgot her. When Hellen was single again, their mutual friend Sam set them up on a blind date. Apparently, it was only blind for Hellen, as Lucas remembered her well! They were drawn to each other right away during that first date. Lucas vividly remembers walking through Christmas in the Park with her and knowing that they were meant to be. (He claims that Hellen took a bit longer than that!)

Nella Terra Wedding

After they'd been together for a while, they were at a party at Nella Terra and were amazed at the landscape. The hills in the background with lush green vineyards make for a truly serene ceremony locale. This venue has both indoor and outdoor settings, with couples typically opting for an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. The whole indoor/outdoor feel is so inviting, and it's no wonder that it's a popular choice for weddings in the Bay Area. We photograph weddings there quite often throughout the year!

Hellen and Lucas felt so welcome while visiting Nella Terra, and they knew their guests would feel the same way. So they went ahead and booked Nella Terra as their wedding venue. They made an excellent choice! Not only is it welcoming, but it allows for some truly incredible wedding photos as you can see below.

Another inspiration came from Hellen's sister. She had great success with both her wedding planner and MC/DJ that Hellen knew they'd be the perfect choices for her wedding. The planner was really on top of things, and her professionalism with every step was impressive. Both the planner and DJ took the time to get everything just right, exactly how Hellen and Lucas wanted it. They especially loved how the MC/DJ took his time in getting the sound right and making sure the guests could clearly hear their vows.

Church Ceremony

Since Hellen's side of the family is Catholic, it was really important to her to get married in a Catholic church. So, they chose Holy Spirit Fremont for their Catholic wedding ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony at a stunning church. We love this inclusion of both sides of the family and that they were able to celebrate this special day in this way.

After the religious ceremony, everyone headed to Nella Terra for ceremony number two. This one was much more personal, as it allowed Hellen and Lucas to exchange their vows in front of everyone nearest and dearest to them.

Once both ceremonies were complete and the photos were taken, it was time to party! The reception inside Nella Terra's extraordinary tent was perfect for these two and their loved ones. Everyone was able to relax and truly have a wonderful time. Plus, they were able to incorporate their favorite meal into the celebration: dessert! The boba station, doughnuts, ice cream station, and cake were top priorities for these two!
