Nella Terra Cellars in Sunol is one of our favorite places to photograph weddings. We are honored to be a preferred wedding photographer with this lovely venue, a private 10-acre vineyard atop the Sunol grade.
Why We Love Nella Terra for Weddings
Convenience. After photographing hundreds of big weddings, many of which are at Nella Terra Cellars, there is one thing that makes this Sunol wedding venue a favorite: convenience.
Nella Terra is a one stop shop for everything on the wedding day. Often we see couples choose a few different locations for the wedding day, from getting ready to the reception. This involves some inconvenience for everyone involved, even if it is indeed worth it in the end to have your perfect locations.
But at Nella Terra you don't have to worry about any of this. Everything is here. There is a gorgeous bridal suite and we know firsthand that you will get lovely photos while getting ready. Local makeup artists and hairstylists are familiar with this location and they will gladly meet you in the suite so you don't have to go anywhere.
It's always nice. The family who owns Nella Terra knows that spring through fall is the best time for weddings at their vineyard, so they are closed during the winter. There is no bad time to book a wedding here, as it's just as gorgeous in the spring as it is in the summer and fall.
Off the beaten path. The property is located away from traffic and neighbors. There are zero worries about sound ordinance complaints.
Wine: They have their own wine, which adds to the convenience. It is a vineyard and winery after all!
Ceremony and Reception
Both your ceremony and reception are held at Nella Terra, and it's an ideal venue for both.
As you tour Nella Terra, you'll instantly be drawn to the stone-inlaid staircase that leads to the cozy yet open haven for your wedding ceremony. The magnificent staircase also provides a perfect entrance for the bride!
Your wedding reception will be steps away underneath the canopied pavilion, ensuring a perfect reception no matter the weather conditions. The white backdrop also pairs with all types of wedding decor and color arrangements. Our VW Bus Photo Booth is an incredible addition and we can't recommend it highly enough while at this venue.
Oh! There's also a bocce ball court, which is so much fun during the reception.

When it's time for photos (and we highly recommend getting first look photos), the property has a variety of photo opportunities. People won't even realize they're looking at photos from the same venue! Since Nella Terra has a vineyard, lake, bridge, waterfall, beautiful foliage, rolling hills, olive trees, and gardens, you are guaranteed stunning photos.
