Ashley & Malorie’s Iconic San Francisco Wedding

Ashley and Malorie San Francisco wedding photos

Over a decade ago, Ashley and Malorie met while working together on their university's yearbook staff on the other side of the country in Washington, DC. Ashley was a freshman and Malorie was the Editor-in-Chief. They were friends almost immediately, and after Malorie graduated and left campus they realized that it was actually much more than a friendship. Over the next eight years, they followed each other across the country from D.C. to LA to NYC and finally to our very own San Francisco. On a trip celebrating Malorie's 30th birthday, Ashley proposed, and they chose their 10th dating anniversary as their wedding date! How sweet is that?!

During their wedding planning, it was a priority to choose spots in San Francisco that showcased iconic parts of this incredible city. At the very start of the wedding planning, they fell in love with a venue only to find out that a construction project was scheduled during their wedding month. After going back to the drawing board they luckily discovered San Francisco City Hall and the San Francisco Film Centre in the Presidio, both perfectly fitting the bill!

In Ashley and Malorie's words, City Hall was "the easiest and best decision we made for our wedding day." Their private ceremony was on the 4th floor balcony with a handful of family members. They made sure to include Frannie, their beloved French Bulldog, into their wedding day by taking some adorable photos with her at the City Hall entrance. Frannie was seriously so cute in her little bowtie.

After the ceremony and City Hall wedding photo session, they surprised their friends and family with a cable car tour of San Francisco. What an amazing way to transport everyone from their ceremony to the reception, especially since most of their family had never been to San Francisco! Their two hour tour took the group through the Embarcadero and Fisherman's Wharf, with a stop at Fort Point for incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge. To the surprise and delight of everyone, a pod of whales happened to swim and play nearby! On top of this, a ladybug landed on Malorie and we immediately made sure to get a good shot of this lucky bug. The stars were aligned and nature was just loving all over these ladies on that day.

Remember the iconic San Francisco Film Centre we mentioned? After taking in the views at Fort Point, everyone headed to the nearby Presidio for Ashley and Malorie's wedding reception at the Film Centre. And what a reception it was! So perfect for these two, filled with love from their family and personal touches everywhere. The catered tacos were from one of their favorite San Francisco food spots, the desserts were childhood favorites handmade by the brides and their mothers, and everything else from the shoes to the decor just fit the brides so perfectly. We felt so privileged to be a part of their special day.

They even kept the party going after the simply amazing time everyone had at the SF Film Centre! Some of them headed over to nearby Presidio Bowl and enjoyed more snacks, partied with glow sticks and a bucket full of neon socks.

Thank you Ashley and Malorie for sharing your wonderful day with us!

Vendors

Catering - Tacolicious
"We LOVE tacos! And Tacolicious is one of our favorite spots in the city. Their catering is out of this world, and their event coordinator Brielle Gordon was incredible."

DJ - Heart of Gold DJs
"Erica lined up a killer set of music for cocktail hour straight through to late-night dancing. She took the time to get to know us and what we liked ahead of time, and then magically made all of our eclectic tastes work together!"

Stylists - Code Salon
"Jia, Natasha, and Danny were the dream team that made us look like a better version of ourselves on our big day."

Photo Booth - MagBooth
Our guests had a blast hanging out in the photo booth with silly props. We got a copy of each strip for our guestbook complete with notes from our friends and family."

Rentals - Bright Event Rentals, Pieces by Violet, and La Tavola
"We sourced all of our furniture and linens from these rental companies upon the recommendation of our coordinator. The lounge areas were a hit with some of our older guests who had a great, relaxed vantage point of the dancing and fun!"

Photography - Red Eye Collection (that's us, of course!)
"BEST DECISION EVER!! Oscar was awesome from start to finish. He made so many critical decisions for us so we didn't have to--it made us comfortable and relaxed throughout the day. Better yet, our photos are perfect."

Event Planner - Buzzworthy Events
"Ashley has so many great contacts in the industry and helped us find all the vendors we needed early in the planning process."

Shoes - Chuck Taylor by Converse
"Wearing fancy heels for the wedding was fine and all, but we also wanted to be able to boogie on the dance floor at our reception. We had matching custom Chuck Taylor sneakers printed with our wedding logo so we could change into those after all the formality was complete."
