Planning a winter wedding? Then you’re going to love these three simple color palettes that are absolutely perfect for winter. The winter months provide a more subdued natural backdrop, so powerful colors that beautifully contrast with that winter mood are what we’re looking for here.

1. Plum & Grey

Winter wedding color palette - plum and grey

Shades of purple pair with every season, but the darker and moodier plum really stands out during the winter. Plum and grey together make for a lovely winter palette. Grooms in grey tuxedos, bridesmaids in plum gowns, and light greys and pinks in between are just lovely for winter weddings.

We photographed this bride who embraced the snowy backdrop and showed off her stylish plum cape with a flourish:

2. Olive & Black

Winter wedding color palette - olive and black

Sure, you’ll find green at every wedding, but olive is such a wonderfully classic shade of green that works so well during the winter. Guys wear the classic black tuxes while every detail of your wedding sports variations of olive contrasted with neutral beige and grey. The palette seems very simple but creates a classically elegant wedding, particularly during the winter.

3. Navy & Marsala

Last but not least, we have this gorgeous winter palette with vibrant blushes and blues. It’s a unique color palette that’s so much fun to flaunt during the winter. Stray from the classic black and grey shades of tuxedos and get the guys in navy with a dark marsala tie. Any outdoor shots will really pop with these colors contrasting against the subdued winter backdrop.
