This black and white Kohl Mansion wedding was fabulous from beginning to end. Christine and Nelson planned out every single detail, intended to create an elegant and classy wedding. The end result was wildly successful.
How They Met
Christine and Nelson were friends for a while before dating. They had known each other for quite some time, and that whole period of time in their lives felt like a blur. When they finally got together, it felt natural. In Christine's words, they thought, "Why haven't we been together all this time?!"
A few years later, Christine planned on spending her birthday were her girlfriends. Nelson decided to take this opportunity to surprise Christine with an epic proposal. He hijacked the entire dinner by renting out the restaurant, invited their closest friends, and gave her the surprise of her life.

Planning an Elegant Wedding
Christine and Nelson wanted everything to be perfect for the big day. "When we were shopping for venues, we fell in love with the beauty and classic elegance of Kohl Mansion," they told us. "We loved the different sections of the mansion that we utilized for different parts of the day -- traditional tea ceremony in the library, wedding ceremony on the lawn, hors-d'oeuvres and cocktail hour on the back patio and garden that converted to our whiskey and cigar bar after dark, dinner on the main patio, cake and desserts in the black and white room that converted to our late night instant ramen bar, dancing in the great hall. It was the perfect location with good weather, parking, and very private."
"We very thoughtfully curated everything -- from our black and white motif to the piano covers of strictly hip hop songs. We wanted our wedding to be classy and elegant, but for people to bob their heads."
Details
This wedding was all about the details. As we've said, Christine and Nelson were very intentional and thoughtful with every aspect of the day. The calla lilies, shoes, wedding party gifts, everything tied together so elegantly. All of it made for lots of incredible detail shots!
Thank you to you both for sharing your breathtaking, elegant day with us. As a team of photographers with a keen eye for detail, your wedding was one that we'll always remember.
