Joanna & Jim’s Fun Museum Wedding Reception

Collage of photos from Joanna and Jim's wedding

Joanna and Jim's top priority for their wedding was absolute fun for every single one of their 230 guests! And they absolutely succeeded with this museum wedding reception. The fun is so apparent in every photo, and we certainly felt it every step of the way, all day!

Catholic Ceremony + Museum Reception

This San Francisco wedding day started at a traditional Catholic Church with a full mass ceremony. Right after this ceremony, the guests headed to the Hiller Aviation Museum for a great party. Before the party really got started, and while we photographed the wedding party, the guests were treated to such a unique experience: a walk-through of the museum! They were able to enjoy this museum along with some cocktails rather than sitting around waiting patiently for the wedding party to arrive. We love this consideration and creativity!

Wedding Party Photos

So while these guests enjoyed the museum, we photographed Joanna and Jim in front of a huge plane. This was such a fun photo shoot! We also went to San Bruno Park for some beautiful photos in nature. After we got all our photos (view them all below!), we went to the Hiller Aviation Museum to join the guests. Joanna and Jim were thrilled to have so many friends and family surround them that day. The reception was in a separate room of the museum, with a really cool black and white dance floor, and a stage for the band.

Surprises for Everyone

In keeping with the promise of fun, Joanna and Jim treated the guests to several surprises throughout the night. There was an incredible and unexpected best man speech made by Jim's brothers. A beautiful, unplanned slideshow surprised Joanna and Jim.  Then a choreographed father-daughter dance delighted everyone. Lastly, there was a surprise live band! Everyone was shocked and talked about this fun museum wedding reception for months afterward.

Joanna told us, "We felt that we threw the party of the year!" The location, the food, the band, all of it. "The wedding was a good representation of the type of people my husband and I are. We invited everyone and had fun!"
